Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations

Following completion of the community governance review by the Council in November 2024 and the review of the Council’s own electoral arrangements by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, it is now necessary to undertake a review of polling districts, polling places and stations. As part of that exercise the views of interested parties are sought. The review is currently underway and a summary of the proposals for all polling stations is available on the Council’s consultation webpage detailed below.  If you have any comments regarding the current location(s) or any of the small number of highlighted proposed changes, please let the Council have your comments by 7 August 2026.

These can be submitted by completing the survey via the following link: https://consultation.eastriding.gov.uk/s/EastRidingPollingDistrictandPollingPlaceReview2026/

Alternatively, you can submit your comments via e-mail to electoral.services@eastriding.gov.uk

Further information about the proposals can be found on the consultation page of the Council’s website at Polling Station Review 2026 (eastriding.gov.uk)

Telephone Switch Off

By January 2027, the UK's old copper phone network will be switched off, area by area. For older or vulnerable residents, particularly those with telecare alarms or no mobile phone, it can be confusing and potentially risky if they're not prepared in time.

There is nothing to buy and no sign-up required.

A link to a free guide is below:

For any residents who have questions, our UK team is available on freephone 0800 112 5000.
